August 3, 2016 - On Monday, August 8th, Colony Road in front of 50 Colony will be blocked for approximately 3 weeks while the contractor installs the lift station equipment.  All traffic will be entering and exiting the community via Ocean Drive during that time.  There is a meeting at the Jupiter Inlet Beach Club on Monday, August 8th, at 7:00 p.m.  The proposed budget will be discussed and Project Engineer Tom Jensen will give a presentation on the project and will answer all of your questions.  Click here for the Mayor's Message.

July 28, 2016 - On Monday, July 25th, the contractor began digging in front of 50 Colony Road and worked on the water main pipes.  On Tuesday, July 26th, digging began in front of 50 Beach Road and a trench was dug east on Colony Road where water pipe installation was commenced.  The crew will continue installing new water pipe east on Ocean Drive, turn the curve and continue south down Ocean Drive.

July 21, 2016 -  The day has finally arrived!  The contractor will be commencing work within the Colony this Monday, July 25th. The work being performed is the water main relocation in front of 50 Colony. In order to perform this work, they will need to close Colony Road in front of 50 Colony thru 52 Colony, requiring entry/exit of the entire community to occur using Ocean Drive only,  This closure is anticipated to take one day.   51 and 52 Colony will still have access to their homes (they just need to exit going south on Colony) and 50 Colony will continue to have access along Ocean Drive.

The Village of Tequesta will be placing door hangers at 50, 51 and 52 Colony this afternoon advising them of the upcoming work which requires the water main to be shut off in front of these homes and the need to have a boil water notice in place for these locations until such time a clearance is given, typically two (2) days. They will be advised by the Village when the boil water notice is lifted.

The contractor will be closing Colony Road between Ocean Drive and Lighthouse Drive between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Monday, and the road will be reopened on or before 6p the same day.

Commencing next Tuesday, July 26th, the contractor will work on the existing water main out on Beach Road, then proceed with installing the new water main through the entrance-way, then turn down Ocean Drive, heading south to the cul-de-sac. He will install the new main from Ocean to Colony along Lighthouse, then proceed north along Colony Road. If you recall, we were originally looking at commencing with the water main installation south along Colony, then north along Ocean.

June 8, 2016 - Tequesta Utilities Department dug a hole to expose the water main near the entrance to the JIB Club Condo and Beach Road today and took measurements so that they can obtain the appropriate fittings to begin running the new pipe from the main east along the entrance road toward the old building at 1 Colony Road and turning south on Colony Road near the stop sign.  In a week or so, Tequesta Utilities will begin installing new potable water pipes.  When we receive the exact date, we will update this site.

May 30, 2016 - FINALLY! Our project is gearing up to start this week. The contractor advised that they are mobilizing tomorrow. Their machines will start showing up on Wednesday/Thursday (June 1st/2nd).  They will be exposing the water main in Beach Road (A1A) and other work will begin in front of 50 Colony at the temporary water main relocation.  The contractor may be starting to mill the asphalt in Colony Road over the proposed water main alignment, and set up his silt fencing at the Tequesta water plant storage yard in anticipation of delivery of material later in the week. When they start the lift station construction, which will be around mid-June, Colony Road in front of the Town’s Administration office will be closed, and traffic will be routed along Ocean Drive.

May 9, 2016 - Mayor Comerford announced at the Commission Meeting that the Village of Tequesta will begin installing potable water pipes by the end of May 2016 and the water pipe portion of the project will take approximately 60 days to complete.  Loxahatchee River District has not given us a definite start date for the sewer portion of the project.

April 4, 2016 - The Town Meeting was held at the Jupiter Inlet Beach Club and more than 100 residents attended to learn about the JIC Neighborhood Rehabilitation Project.  The presentation was given by Project Engineer Tom Jensen, Kimley-Horn.  Mr. Jensen gave a Power-Point presentation and addressed questions from the residents in attendance.  Other Project Team Members present were Dr. Arrington, Executive Director of the Loxahatchee River District, contractor team members and the Hydrologist.  The Team answered questions according to their area of expertise.  The presentation included a projected timeline for the different phases of the project.  Click HERE to visit the Neighborhood Rehab Project page where the link to the presentation is located.
